Does Masturbation Increase The Risk Of Hematuria?

default
Posted on Thu, 3 Sep 2015
Question: A couple of days ago, I suffered from painful hematuria. Went to the ER, bladder infection was negative. CAT scan came back negative - no stones. So, doctor gave me antibiotics to treat chlamydia and gonorrhea. But, no results back on whether or not it was an STD.

Shortly after leaving the hospital, the blood in the urine cleared up. I haven't seen any blood in my urine in the past 3 days.

I have also had chronic epididymitis my entire adult life. However, if I engage in sexual activity or masturbate at least once every 3 days or so, my epididymitis does not bother me. I've been suffering from epididymitis for at least the past 8 or 9 years, but my general routine when it flares up and is painful, is to just masturbate (or have sex) and take a nap. Once I wake up from the nap, the pain is gone.

Now, I haven't masturbated/ejaculated at all in about 4.5 days out of fear - ever since I saw blood in my urine, and my epididymitis is really starting to flare up and cause pain in the both the testicles and lower abdomen.

I'm scared that if I masturbate, the hematuria may come back - even though I haven't seen really any blood in my urine since my trip to the ER. Is this a reasonable fear? Could masturbation cause my hematuria to return? Or should I be okay now? Is there any other way to relieve the epididymitis pain?

Brief Answer:
MAsturabtion shouldnt cause hematuria

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
Hematuria os blood in urine and it is caused by urinary tract disorder such as bladder infection, kidney stones, or urethral injury. Epididimits should not cause hematuria on its own since it may cause only blood in semen so mastrurabtion should cause blood in urine unless masturbation causes injury of urethra and then blood may appear in urine since it flows through damaged urethra.
So if you dont have pain in urethra or penis, there should not be uretral injury and you can masturbate but do it more gently. Epidimitis must be treated with antibiotics and it will relieve pain as well. Wish you good health. Regards
