Question: I have slight chest pain in my left breast muscle after a hot shower. I have also had some discomfort after playing tennis for 90 to 120 minutes. Could it be just muscle strain?

Brief Answer: ECG, TROPONIN Level. Rule out Myocardial infarctio Detailed Answer: Hello, As it is after playing tennis, Pain is mostly due to Muscle pain. You have to concern, if you have 1. Severe Chest Pain- Consisting or Compressing type 2. Pain radiating to arm, neck or shoulder 3. Associated with sweating, Giddiness. 4. Breathing difficulty. But some times atypical chest pain may be a symptom for Myocardical Infarction. Thus it is better to do the following two tests to rule out Myocardial infarction because of your age. 1. Electrocardiogram (ECG) 2. Serum Troponin levels. If the both these are normal, then the pain could be due to Either gastritis or Muscular pain. Then you may either Proton Pump Inhibitors or Pain killers. Hope this helps. Please write back for further queries. Wishing you good health
