Does The Use Of Oral Contraceptive Pill Have An Impact On Future Fertility?

Question: Hi Dr. XXXXXXX
We are planning for a child, however there are a few concerns I would like you to help me understand:
a. I was on XXXXXXX for over two years, and have stopped it from Jan-15. My periods are regular but the flow is very less and usually lasts 1-2 days since I have stopped OCP ( Prior to starting them I had a 4-5 days flow ). Is this alright or will this be a problem for my conception ?
b. I have been practising yoga regularly for over a year, is it okay for me to continue ?

Brief Answer:
No impact on pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
hi. the use of oral contraceptive pills have no impact on future fertility. some women experience low flow when on pills. u have it lesser after stopping pills- is not because of pills. lesser flow normally has no problems in conception.
if u are trying to conceive since XXXXXXX u can wait till XXXXXXX 2016 and see a dr if u fail to conceive by then.
yoga is safe while trying and in pregnancy provided u do it right.

Thank you for the clarification doctor.

However, I would like to understand what can be the cause of low flow ? I have tested my hemoglobin as well as thyroid and both are normal.

Also, I have been taking Proanagen for hairfall. Is this safe while trying to conceive ?

Thanks in advance.

Brief Answer:
Proanagen safe

Detailed Answer:
it's safe to continue proanagen. causes of less flow are many. most common is weight gain, increasing age, uterine TB etc. you should not worry about it and try to conceive. only if there is failure to conceive we look into it.
