Thrombocytopenia itself would not cause confusion.
If there is significant bleeding due to the thrombocytopenia which causes a significant drop in red blood count, then this would cause confusion.
May need to have her Hb checked, if there is no recent value, to rule out anemia (low red blood cell count) as a cause of symptoms
