Hi Doctor, I Went For A Prostate Massage And A

Question: Hi Doctor, I went for a prostate massage and a handjob last XXXXXXX and the masseuse(prostitute) inserted her fingers into my ass(covered with vinyl glove). I think she must have scratched my inner rectal tissues which was why I experienced pain but I dont recall seeing blood at the end of the session. So I voiced out my concerns, at one point she removed her glove and finger me with her naked finger. Will I get HIV from it if shes HIV positive(status unknown), has a cut on her finger(dont recall seeing her finger dripping blood;not sure if she had minor cuts) and my tissue is scratched with a pathway for the HIV virus to pass into my bloodstream? Some websites states that it is theoritically possible but theres no documented case so far(not sure about this?) while other websites state that its not possible. I am freaking out, getting panic attacks episodes from this fear. My immune system wasnt good during that episode so I am not sure if it will increase the chances of me getting HIV? Thanks for replying in advance!

Brief Answer:
No risk of HIV

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and noted your concern

There is no risk of HIV transmission from skin even if there were minor cuts or abrasions. Moreover as you said that you didn't see any blood on her finger. HIV is only transmitted through unprotected sex - either vaginal, anal or oral sex and never through skin. There is no need to even test for HIV.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance.

The reasons as to why I am also afraid was that my WHITE BLOOD CELL count (5.13) was just slightly above the minimum average (5) during a blood test in January as my temperatures was slightly elevated and I was suffering from a sore throat and a cough which did not heal for a very long time. For the last 2 months, I also had sore throat (not really painful feels more like dry throat though I drink 10L of water everyday?). Last but not least, I recalled that I also had frequent sore throats and slightly elevated temperature like (37.0-37.4 degrees) in the few weeks after that episode last year. I am going for a quick HIV test next Thursday. Which type of quick HIV test would you suggest? Oral/Finger pricking? In the meantime, I am still fearful because of the reasons stated above.

Brief Answer:
No risk of HIV

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Irrespective of your WBC counts, you cannot get HIV from this particular incident. Though not required, you may still take a rapid blood test for HIV for your own peace of mind.
Take care

What if she had real small wounds on her fingers and a few drop of blood entered my bloodstream? Wont I be at high risk? Since the immune system cant even fight against 1 drop if HIV INFECTED blood?

Brief Answer:
No risk of HIV

Detailed Answer:
hi.
You can assume that and keep worrying. If there was no visible blood than that is the fact. If you can't stop worrying then you may take a screening test. Most likely it would be negative and it will also document that you are negative.
Take care.
