How Are Mifepristone And Misoprostol Administered?
Question: Hi I took one tablet of mifepristone and after 24 hours 4 tablets of misoprostol orally. It's been 10days and I'm bleeding.. It is scary..I cannot share this with anyone. What should I do..please help

After consumption of the above tablets, bleeding may begin in an hour. Heavy bleeding lasts for 6-8 hours associated with the passage of clots. Bleeding the same amount as your periods may last for 6-10 days. If you are bleeding for longer than that or are experiencing severe abdominal cramping, it may indicate that the abortion is incomplete.
If the bleeding is longer than normal, or you experience giddiness, weakness I recommend you immediately consult an obstetrician.
After 2 weeks of taking the tablets, you necessarily need to see the obstetrician who will recommend an abdomen scan to ensure that all the products of pregnancy have been removed. If the uterus still retains products of conception, then the obstetrician will have to remove the retained products with means of uterine aspiration.
This step is ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY as neglected retained products of conception can lead to life threatening complications like bleeding, infection or even sepsis.
