Hi,

The Normal Blood Pressure According to International Standards is Systolic Less Than 130 and Diastolic Less That 80; i.e. < 130/80

Normal BP: < 130/80
Borderline BP: 130-140/80-90
Hypertension: > 140/90

So your BP is borderline. Especially the Systolic.

At this stage, you should do life style modifications.
1. Reduce your salt intake
2. Regular Exercise - Brisk Walking/Jogging, min 30 mins/day.

This should control it to normal.

There is no indication for taking medicine at this stage.

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks and Regards

Hi,

Medications would be necessary if BP constantly goes more than 140 or 90.

There are many medications to chose from and the latest medication do not have any significant side effects.

Regarding activity, well its the most important step for controlling BP. Any physical activity will help to bring down the BP. So go ahead.

I hope, I have answered your query. Please accept my answer in case you have no follow up queries.
