Question : Im inquiring the link between being on a strict ketogenic diet and how this would affect a BAC reading. I was recently pulled over and blew a .27. Im a 5'4" 147lb female and im just wondering how in the world that number would be so high. I did have about 16oz of malt liquor between 5 and 8 at night. and the only thing i ate was a small salad for dinner. A little history behind my diet: I never eat breakfast and if i do its a protein shake. For lunch i eat a salad lots of eggs no dressing, and for dinner I usually eat a piece of chicken or fish and a small salad once again with lots of eggs no dressing. I dont snack in between meals. I drink nothing but lots of water all day if I stray its just for a cup of tea ( and the occasional beer). Im also taking 3 different vitamin supplements. The first being Garcinia Cambogia which contains 1600mg of the cambogia extract and 80mg of potassium. The second is Green Coffee Bean 1600mg; Coffee Robusta standardized to 50%, 45% total chlorogenic acids, 5% 5-caffeolyquinic acid. And last I take a colon cleanse 1525mg consisting of a combination of psyllium powder, inulin, slippery elm bark, aloe vera leaf powder, chlorella, acai berry fruit powder, black walnut hulls powder, ginger root, hyssop leaf, papaya fruit powder and lycopene 5%. I take these 3x a day.
That being said, I know people who can drink a 12 or 24 pack of beer and probably not even come close to what I blew and I just dont understand it. So any insight is appreciated-thank you

Brief Answer:
You drank enough to do that.

Detailed Answer:
Several points. Women absorb more alcohol:
1) they have less enzymes in the gut that metabolize alcohol before it gets in
2) they are smaller so a given amt of alcohol in a smaller container gives more of a volume (less dilutional effect, higher concentration).
3) more absorbed on empty stomach
4) not inducing a lot of liver metabolic enzymes with a more healthy lifestyle.
and... the tea and some of the herbals might have blocked metabolism of alcohol further but I think the other effects are much more scientifically established.
