Question : I am on HRT for the past 3 years. I am aged 50 and went through menopause at 40. How many years is it save to be on this medication?

Welcome to HCM,

I can understand your concerns,

HRT can be used for 3-5years.usually it is used till you have postmenopausal symptoms.

It is not advisable to use for long period as it has side effects too.

Once your postmenopausal symptoms subside,start decreasing dose of it. It should not stop abruptly.

Consult your Gynecologist for further guidance.
