Brief Answer: Distinon life long, prednisone and azathiprine also Detailed Answer: Hello sir, My name is Vinay Bhardwaj. Let me see if i can help you out with this. Distinon is the most basic treatment for Myasthenia. The medication allows the natural neurotransmitters which control your muscles to last longer in your muscle and thereby should help with your symptoms. If you have noticed that your symptoms are getting worse in spite of the distinon we need to see why. Many times periods of great stress can trigger an attack of Mystehnia which is worse than what it would normally be. Have you had any abnormal stress lately? New job? Have you been ill? Or had an infection? There are two other medications that can be added to the treatment of Myasthenia that can help you tide over an attack. They are Prednisone and Azathioprine. Both of these drugs should not be sued if you have an active infection and they should not be started unless you speak to the original doctor who prescribed the Distinon for you. I hope this helps, if you have any further questions, feel free to follow up. Vinay

Brief Answer: Myasthenia is a lifelong issue, Meds are lifelong Detailed Answer: Hello sir, Thanks you for following up, Myasthenia is a lifelong issue where the immune system is attacking the nerves and receptors preventing the activity of natural chemicals in the nerve ending. The treatment thus is lifelong. You may not need very high doses of these medications for long, but as of now, there is no other treatment and you must take the medications lifelong. I hope this helps. Vinay
