Question : Hello Dr. , My son is 5 + years old and he was suffering from fever from past 4 days. We are giving him Taxim O Forte (7.5 ml) twice in a day and Crocin DS (12ml) SOS (whenever fever spike more than 100 F). As per our doctor, we have to continue above medicines for 5 days and today is the 5th day.
Can you please advice what all medicines need to continue as fever is still spiking to 100 F once in a day mostly in the late evening? I am enclosing his latest CBC test report.

Brief Answer:
Stop Antibiotics
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concerns but don't worry. The CBC is not showing any significant change needing prolonged antibiotic therapy. Since the spikes have reduced so stop Taxim O forte and just give crocin ds for high grade spikes ( more than 101 degrees if present.
In case the spikes do not improve in next 3 days completely then repeat clinical evaluation followed by lab evaluation accordingly will be useful.
Hopefully it will be of help.
Take care
