Should Azithral Be Continued After 3rd Day For Fever?
hello My daughter 1 yrs old is suffering with cold , cough and fever(varying from 99-101.6 F). consulted dr, and advised to take T MINIC, crocin and Asthalin for 3 days, and still fever persist, Azithral drops. today is 3rd day, and temp today is morning 98, noon 99.. do I proced with azithral or need again consult for further diagnosis.. She is not taking food also...only breast milk.
Azithral contains azithromycin which belongs to the group of antibiotics known as macrolides is used to treat various types of bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, ear, nose, throat, lungs, skin and eye infection in adults and children. It is also effective in typhoid fever and urinary tract infection (UTI). It should be regularly used at evenly spaced time intervals as prescribed by the doctor. Don't skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if the patient feels better. This will make sure that all the bacteria are killed and they don't become resistant. Stopping the medication too early may lead to the return or worsening of the infection.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
