How Soon After A Brain Stroke Can One Regain Consciousness?

Question: Hi ,

My brother in law got a brain stroke on left side of his brain. Currently treatment is going on in the hospital.But the situation is he is not able to speak and recognize us from past two days. His age 45. The doctors are not saying anything confidently regarding this case. so could you please help on this.

Please do help how many days it will take to recover from unconscious to conscious.
and also let me know what are precaution we need to take care to recover fast.

I can well understand your concerns and the emotional turmoil you must be going through at present.
It appears that your brother is having aphasia as a manifestation of stroke.Besides,he may be having other deficits as well.

I shall answer this query in the best possible way but I need to know a few details beforehand-
1)What is the type of stroke he had?Infarct or Hemorrhage?If possible,please upload CT brain or MRI reports.It will be even better if you can upload the CT/MRI images or CD/electronic format.
2)Please upload the other documents/case sheet/neurological examination sheet and investigations?
3)Besides this stroke,is he having any other disease history?Diabetes,Hypertension or Heart disease?
4)History of smoking or any other addictions?

I shall be glad to have you in follow-up with the above details so that I can address your concerns in the best possible way.
