Question : Is baralgin fairly safe for tummy discomfort? I'm not sure if the tummy ache is connected with a urinary infection that seemed to have cleared up with prescribed meds.

Baralgin contains metamizole which has analgesic and anti spasmodic property.
For abdominal pain I would have preferred meftalspas tablets.
Urinary tract infection can cause abdominal pain. For UTI I would asked you for routine urine analysis with culture. As you have mentioned that you have taken the antibiotic course, I would have waited for three report and then decided on the medication.
Stomach ache is commonly due to acidity, presently I would suggest you to take capsule omez 20 mg before breakfast once daily for 5 days, and observe for any improvement.

Thank you for your advice. In the Bahamas where I live, I'm not sure if the meds you mention are available. However, I'll ask a pharmacist about them.
I now remember the first drug I used was bactrim, with very little positive results. I was given a second round of the same, after which another drug was administered. Will monitor the situation and keep in touch.
