I have been prescribing gemfoss since last many years in rapid recovery of bone diseases but over the years I have noticed following complications of it-
Hypersensitivity reactions including angioedema, generalized rash and bullous skin reactions, some severe
Gastrointestinal: Esophagitis, esophageal or gastric ulcers
Musculoskeletal pain: Bone, joint, or muscle pain, described as severe or incapacitating, have been reported rarely
Eye inflammation: Iritis, uveitis
Jaw osteonecrosis
Pulmonary: Asthma exacerbations.
So its not 100% safe

Back pain (14%)
Dyspepsia (12%)
Bronchitis (10%)
1-10% (SELECTED)
Asthenia
Diarrhea
Dizziness
Myalgia
Pneumonia
Tooth disorder
UTI
POSTMARKETING REPORTS
Hypersensitivity: Allergic reactions including anaphylactic reaction/shock; in some cases fatal, angioedema, bronchospasm, asthma exacerbations, and rash
Metabolic: Hypocalcemia
Musculoskeletal: Joint, bone, or muscle pain, described as severe or incapacitating; osteonecrosis of the jaw.
Fosamax and prolia are few alternatives which also have their own side effects.
