Is ICP Therapy A Possible Treatment For Erectile Dysfunction?

default
Posted on Fri, 14 Nov 2014
Question: Hi, I am considering ICP therapy as a possible treatment for mild ED; however, before doing so, I wanted to see how safe this treatment method is. I've read that's it's very effective; however, I am more concerned about the possible side effects, if any. I have had a pulmonary embolism about 4 years ago, so I am concerned about any meds I take. Since I've read that this treatment is local, and not systemic, I found it interesting. I read somewhere that it could possibly cause heart rhythm abnormalities, and possible effects on liver enzymes. I don't understand how if the treatment is only local. Can you please give me your professional opinion? I need to know if this is totally safe.

Brief Answer:
Its local and totally safe.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.

Looking at the query, my opinion is as follows:

1. Its safe and better than oral pills in relation to heart and liver side effects.

2. Treatment is local and complications, very minimal are also local.

3. Heart rythmn abnormalities are not seen. Definitely without entering the systemic circulation, effect on liver and heart cannot be seen.

4. Its totally safe. However, training is necessary.

5. Due to your history of pulmonary embolism, you must be on anti-coagulants. Bruises could be more common compared to others. However, no other risks are present.
Hope it helps.
