Question : I have been taking Carafate liquid four times a day before meals. Since the price has gone so high on it ($500 mth) my doctor suggested I switch to Malox or Gaviscon. Will that work like Carafate and is Maalox or Gaviscon better for paraesophageal hernia problems. YYYY@YYYY

Brief Answer:
Yes switch.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. If carafate is high in its price, i can assure you gaviscon and maalox works as good as carafate rather better in combination. So don't hesitate in switching to these meds . Along with with adjust diet and lifestyle, eat small frequent meals, delay lying down after meals, reduce dairy products, chocolates, caffeine, cola, alcohol etc. I am sure these symptoms will stay managed.

I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
