Can Epidural Injection Cause Stomach Pain,vomiting And Constipation?

My husband had a spinal epidural injection two days ago due to a herniated disc. Yesterday he started getting pain in his stomach, vomiting, and severe constipation. He has taken 4 laxatives, two enimeas, and miralax and is still not able to go to the bathroom. Is this a complication of the injection ? What do you recommend we do at this point?

Epidural injections can cause stomach pain, vomiting, and constipation as side effects. These symptoms may be related to the medication used in the injection or could be due to other factors. Contact your husband's doctor for these symptoms and seek advice to manage them. They may recommend additional treatments or tests to identify the cause of the symptoms. In the meantime, your husband needs to stay hydrated and follow any dietary recommendations provided by his healthcare provider.
