Brief Answer:
Hello

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query

It is possible that the blood pressure is out of control right now as he is on metoprolol of a different company. Different company drugs even though contain the same drug there will be some difference in the efficacy of the drug.

I advice you to switch back to Toprol for better blood pressure control, if the blood pressure still remain high then I suggest starting him on a calcium channel blocker like Amlodipine or a ACE inhibitor

I also suggest the following for high blood pressure

1. Salt restricted diet of less than 3g of salt per day
2. Exercise daily for atleast 30 min
3. Losing weight to normal BMI has known to reduce blood pressure

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Regards
