Each capsule of Nyquil contains Acetaminophen 325 mg; Dextromethorphan HBr(cough suppressant) 15mg and Doxylamine Succinate(antiallergic) 6.25 mg.
It is used mainly in viral cough/cold.
The dose is mainly based on acetamenophen(an antipyratic).The acetaminophen can be given in a dose of 10-15 mg/kg/dose 6 hourly.
So for 70 lbs(about 30 kg) child 1 capsule every 6 hour can be given safely.
