Brief Answer:
NSAIDs required for treating the acute attack

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

If your flight is due in 6 hours then the best you can do is to offer him OTC NSAIDs like ibuprofen, hot fomentation and drinking plenty of fluids/water to avoid dehydration. Alcohol should be avoided. Yes, he can fly with these medication. NSAIDs are superior to both colchicine and corticosteroids in the treatment of an acute gouty arthritis attack. NSAIDs like naproxen or diclofenac can also be used if ibuprofen is not available.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
