Question : Can I have wine or alcohol in general with Augmentin? If not what are the complications if I did?

Hi, I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.

As such there is no direct contraindication of consuming alcohol with Augmentin but it should be best avoided as alcohol along with augmentin can increase the risk of gastritis, loose motions and hepatitis if taken in excessive amounts.

Alcohol also reduces your immune status so in general can cause aggravation of the primary disease for which you are taking Augmentin.
