Question : I have chronic occlusion of the Celiac artery; would a Bariatirc procedure help?
Brief Answer:
these two procedures are unrelated
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing to HCM.
As there is good collateral circulation already developed arround the block so nothing else needs to be done as you are not having any symptoms of bowel ischemia.
If for your diabetes you are planning the biatric surgery that can be done, but for that you will need proper evaluation by a gastrosurgeon, as your degree of collateral circulation will have an great say in that. So he might ask you to get an MR angiogram for the same. Further decision will depend upon that report.
Hope i had been helpful.
