Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

Put pressure in the 140s would be regarded as mildly elevated. Typically in a situation where the blood pressure runs in the 140 to 150 range a doctor would likely recommend diet and lifestyle modifications including exercise, decreased daily intake of salt and good hydration.

If the blood pressure remains elevated in this range after a few months of lifestyle modification then your doctor might consider putting you want to low dose of medication.

Optimal blood pressure is in a rangeof 110 to 120 systolic. Many people require blood pressure medication to try to achieve this type of optimal goal.

I would suggest that you touch base with your primary care physician for a visit with consultation and examination. Some baseline blood test might be requested as well.

thank you again for sending your question. I don't think your blood pressure is in a dangerous range right now but it definitely is something you should discuss with your doctor for continued management.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
