Question : My mother's fasting blood sugar level is 210 constantly for the last two months despite medication. She takes Glador 500 mg twice a day.

Noted your concern.

Fasting blood sugar of 210 is quite high.
In such a case I may suggest following evaluation-
- Detailed physical examination.
- Medication details on which blood sugar level done.
- Investigations-
Post prandial blood sugar level
HbA1c
Renal function test.
Liver function test.
Urine examination including urine ketone.

Depending upon all above evaluation there may be need for insulin treatment for better blood sugar control.
Glimepiride and Metformin are one of suitable treatment option but final decision can be taken only after physical evaluation.
