Posted on Wed, 14 Oct 2015
Question: Hi,

Three days ago, in the evening, i was spraying Pesticide Chlorpyrifos in my home and accidentally spilled it over my hand and maybe inhaled its vapors also. Suddenly after an hour of this exposure, i developed pain in both legs and fever overnight. I went to doctor next day and he said its viral fever. I am taking dolo 650 every 6 hrs but its not able to bring down fever properly. For last 3 days i am experiencing continuous fever around 103 farahneit and very sharp unbearable pinching pain in both legs and hips. Please guide if it can be because of poisoning or just coincidence with viral fever.

Brief Answer:
Fever is due to pesticide contact and inhalation

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

I understand your concern.

The fever in your case is related to Pesticide contact and inhalation rather than Viral origin in my opinion.

Chlorpyrifos is known to cause this hyperthermia.

Continue DOLO 650 mg for another 3 days.

You should be alright in a week's time.

Post your further queries if any,
Thank you.
