Question: Hi, I am 6 week pregnant and my S-TSH result is 5.52 UIU/ml (0.35 to 0.50 is suggested as normal). My gynaecologist had advice EBEXID once in a day empty stomach. My question is: is it advisable to take this medicine as TSH is only margimarginally high?

Brief Answer:
It is safe to take ebexid

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

The normal serum TSH range is 3.5 to 5.5 IU/ml in normal individual. In.case of pregnancy we need to follow different cut off value - its 2.5

So even slight elevation also needs to start thyroid medication.

Thyroid hormone play a very important role in early development of embryo. Most early abortions can be attributed to thyroid abnormalities. So this medicine is apt and safe.

Brief Answer:
It might be permanent problem

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,I got your query. In my opinion hypothyroidism if detected once hormone supplementation is to be done for life long.It might not be only during pregnancy.
But there might be dose adjustment after delivery. There is need to repeat the thyroid profile after delivery. And take the opinion of endocrinologist.
Hope this satisfies your query.

Brief Answer:
take combination of paracetamol with decongestants

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,I got your query.

In my opinion for cold you can take paracetamol 3 - 4 times a day with decongestants like tab. doxinate or cetirizine once a day. Avoid intake of chilled items.
Have lukewarm water for intake and gargling with warm salt water twice a day for 2 to 3 days. You might not need antibiotics.

Hope this satisfies your query.
