Is It Safe To Have HCG Injection For Vaginal Bleeding During Pregnancy?
Question: I had bleeding in 6th wk of pregnancy. Doctor has prescribed to take HCG 5000 injection, proluton depot injection weekly once each for 4 weeks. Also Dr has prescribed Susten 300 tablets Morning and night once. Now its 9 weeks and baby was fine in 8th wk scanning. But from past 4 days i am having sever leg pain and frequent vomiting sensation and dizziness. Is it normal during 9 wk of pregnancy?
Also following are my questions regarding these medications.
1. Dr. dint do blood test to find HCG level before prescribing HCG injection. Why this injection is used for?
2. Why proluton depot injection is used for?
3. Why Susten 300 is required? Is it normally given to any pregnant woman or only in my case as i saw bleeding 3wks back? Will taking susten 300 tablet two times a day i.e 600 mg. cause any side effects?

Leg pain and vomiting are common in pregnancy and more so in early and last month of pregnancy.
HCG levels are not required and even if in normal limit then also supplemental HCG is very helpful.
Proluton and susten are very helpful in prevention of bleeding in future because it helps in prevention of placental separation which is the main cause of bleeding.
Susten is routinely prescribed in pregnancies at risk of abortion and preterm delivery so take it as advised and also bed rest as much as possible.
Take folic acid daily which is also helpful in prevention of bleeding.
