Does A Woman Ovulate In Her Every Cycle?

Hello doctor! My age is 29 and i am TTC .As my doc suggested for and my blood and hormone related reports were alright i have healthy periods of 4-5 days.Internal Follicular study i have taken that in February 2012 and March 2012 and it showed follicle growth was good in both ovaries and had been given HCG injections and tried during the best days . But had negative results . then i had my Follicular study done externally in April 2012. But that showed my follicles had less or no growth? i am confused why it happen this time ? does a woman ovulate in her every cycle? or the Follicular study done externally or internally has some different results? what method of follicular study is more accurate? plz help me doc iam confused now .

Hi,

The ladies having regular menses with regular bleeding pattern, mostly ovulate regularly. But factors like physical or psychological stress of any type can affect hormones and cause missed ovulation in few cycles in a year. Thus, nothing can be predicted about ovulation.

Still if you want to be sure of ovulation ,you can go for LH Surge test at home. Ovulation follows a couple of days following positive test and accordingly you can have unprotected sex with your gynecologists advise. If your ovulation is irregular, your gynecologist would prescribe an ovulation stimulator drug to you.
