Brief Answer:
Not directly

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Directly these drugs are not shown to be causing behavioral abnormality but they occasionally cause change in electrolytes, such as low sodium or high potassium. Which in turn cause behavioral abnormality especially low sodium. Please check sodium and potassium If normal you need to look for other causes.

Next question: sodium has come down to 104 and mother is behaving abnormally. She has been hospitalised and diagnosed for low sodium. She is given saline and normal diet to improve the sodium levels. The current level of sodium is 119 and BP is 100/60 and since yesterday she has not given any medicine for high BP which she is taking regularly since last 29 yrs or so.

My question is why BP is low in spite of extra salt given during last 24 hrs and that too without any medication for high BP and also what is the reason for sodium levels coming down to such levels but with BP levels at 150/ 90.

Warm wishes,
doctor

Brief Answer:
Hi,

Detailed Answer:
Sorry for the delay in my response.

Any effect on BP due to imbalance in the sodium is seen few hours or days late.

BP does pick up as she is on extra sodium but only after some time.

Wish you good health..
