Posted on Fri, 24 Jun 2016
Question: Hi is Hiv 1 pro viral DNa is conclusive after 4weeks. My result after 4 weeks is negative. Hiv 1,2 with p24 antigen is negative after 21 day s. Whether I need further testing. I went to massage palor and never had any oral or vaginal or anal sex. All I did was just rubbed(touched) the back side of her ass (on her leggins pant) not the skin. I felt wetness when I touched the pant back side. I was scared whether it was vaginal fiuld or water. I never touched it directly only on pant. I have the habit of bite nails that's why scared. Need your reply whether it's conclusive based on my issue.whether need to test later?

Brief Answer:
Your risk is negligible.Possibility of HIV 1 infection already ruled out.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
All your activities including rubbing of body parts (Including the ass), Touching the secretions (including vaginal secretions) carries negligible risk for HIV transmission as per CDC XXXXXXX
HIV DNA PCR 4 weeks after the encounter is highly reliable. But this DNA PCR ruled out only the HIV 1 infection unless it is specified for HIV 2 with another separate test.
Similarly HIV 1 and 2 antibody/ P24 antigen test by 21 days also is reliable only for the P24 antigen part and not for the 1 and 2 antibody part as you are still in the window period of HIV antibody formation. That part of the test will be reliable only after 8 weeks and conclusive by 12 weeks. But HIV 1 infection is common to the extent of more than 99% and HIV 2 is prevalent less than 0.5% throughout the world except in certain parts of XXXXXXX You are free from HIV 1 infection.
