Is Pain In The Left Knee A Cause For Concern?

default
Posted on Thu, 12 May 2016
Question: I have developed a bad habit of sitting on my left leg while typing on my computer. Lately I have noticed pain on the inside of my left knee and I cannot bend my knee all of the way. Have I done damage to my knee? Should I see my GP or an orthopedic doctor?

Brief Answer:
KNee pain

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

You have recently been sitting on your leg while on the computer and you have noticed pain to the knee. The inside of your knee has probably caused irritation to the ligaments around the knee. This is not a permanent injury and can be fixed by using a NSAID and some physical therapy. The best thing will be to stop sitting in that position. I would recommend that you see your primary care physician so they can do a full knee exam. But I think first stretching exercises and NSAIDS first may resolve your issues.
