Hello XXXXXXX

Thanks for posting on XXXXXXX

I am pleased to be able to help you with your query.

A thyroid disorder could either be low thyroid hormone production (hypothyroidism) or high production (hyperthyroidism).
To answer your question, yes there is a connection between hypothyroidism and decreased taste and smell (late symptoms) and fatigue or feeling slowed down (early symptoms). Other symptoms may also occur as a result of hypothyroidism. But do take note that other diseases can also alter your taste and smell with fatigue too. So if you are suspecting thyroid disorder, it is best to do a thyroid function test.

Hope this answers your question and helps
