Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P
Thanks for posting your query.
There is no permanent cure for Thyroid problem ( Hypothyroidism ) but in some people it gradually heals by itself over a period of years. Then then you need to keep taking medications.
Your TSH value og 1-2 is very good and hence your dose can be reduced to 600mcg per week ( take 100mg tablet six days a week ) . Follow this dose and repeat TSH after 3 months.
Because of hypothyroidism , the metabolism in body is slow and hence Cholesterol increases ( inspite of your good exercise schedule ) . You have mentioned that your cholesterol is 230 but I need to know whether this is Total Cholesterol or is it LDL cholesterol because the decision to whether start cholesterol lowering medicine depends on this factor.
Apart from cholesterol lowering medicine , you need to increase the intensity of exercise and eat low cholesterol diet.
Diet : Avoid sweets , Carbonated drinks, red meat, egg yolk, Potato, avoid cheese , butter , junk food .
Eat more fruits, more vegetables.
Coming to calcium supplement , usually I recommend for females or patients who are more than 50 years of age . So for you as of now nop need for calcium .
Any clarifications feel free to ask.
Regards
