Question : my 23 year old daughter has pain and swelling under her breast for a week. She saw a doctor who acted like he didn't care much and said it is probably just your veins. She is still quite concerned as they swolleness seems to be increasing.

Swelling below the breast can be of multiple origins

But usually if it is increasing on a day to day basis there are chances it is infected sebaceous cyst

Another possibility is that it could be a small boil

What is the condition of the skin over the swelling ? Is it red and hot ?

What is the shape of the swelling ?

She said it is the veins under breast that were an inch in length but have grown to 2 or 3 inches in the last week. sharp pain to touch. they look like enlarged veins that are popping out. even in size under each breast. not red or hot.

Your information is really confirmatory and rules out any infective lumps
Engorged veins are commonly seen in premenstrual periods
If there is no lump in breast and no discharge from nipple wait for the menses to get done
If after that also these persist, it would be better if you see a surgeon in your area and if need be go for an ultrasound of the breast tissue
