First of all I am bit confused , you say you are Type 1 Diabetic but you are on Oral Medications. Patients with Type 1 diabetic will respond only to Insulin . So most likely you are Type 2 diabetic as your sugars are controlled with Tablets .

Now coming to your query, your blood sugars are controlled due to the effect of medicines and hence you need to continue the same . Well there is an option of reducing the dosage , I can advise on this only if you let me know the exact value of your blood sugars.

Hope you find this information useful.
