Social Anxiety Disorder. Lack Of Facial Hair, Excessive Masturbation In Youth. Excess Adrenaline Cause Of Panic Attacks ?

I fear a lot, always nervous, mind is full of anxious thoughts and these conditions exaggerates when i have to speak in front of people, meeting new people, going to new places, taking new responsibilities in job etc. This has caused my confidence to drop to a very low level and has made me a shy personality.I figured it out from some research on net that it is Social anxiety disorder. I am 27 and since childhood i have the above symptoms. One more thing i would like to say is that during my very early years i started masturbating and that too in high frequency. Also i lack facial hair at this age too. Is this due to over production of adrenaline which rushes my hear beat and cause me to panic in any situation. Please help. my life has become hell. I like to live alone and feel very isolated.
My details
Age 26
Height 6 feet
Weight 79 kg
No major problem throughout my life. But permanent headache is there and some issues of sinus
Thanks for your query.
I appreciate your efforts for medical consultation in so much distress.
Important aspects of your query are:
• 26 year old male
• Known case of social anxiety disorder : self assessment
• Complaints of: anxiety in new places and in presence of other person, excessive worry, lack of confidence, palpitation (feeling of own heart beats), panic, persistent headache, low mood, delayed facial hair growth and lack of concentration.
• Past history of excessive masturbation
First and most important thing in your case is that your all symptoms can be explained by generalised anxiety and social anxiety disorder except delayed facial hair growth which can be genetic, and there is no need to worry much for hair growth. Hair growth is not related to adrenalin rush.
Anxiety may lead to spasm in forehead muscles leading to chronic headache, although sinus problem also may be the cause of headache in your case.
You also mention about past history of excessive masturbation. In present situation if you are not masturbating more than 3-4 times per week than there is no problem. If you are still masturbating more, than decrease the frequency of it. Past history of excessive masturbating does not affect patient condition, but if you have guilt then it can increase your anxiety. So do not worry about that and enjoy masturbation in lower frequency.
You are untreated for long duration and your symptoms are leading to depression. For treatment you should visit Psychiatrist. As you are having multiple symptoms then combined treatment in form behaviour therapy and drug therapy will be best in your case.
In drug treatment two types of medicine used. For immediate relief of anxiety benzodiazepines group of medicines are used and for long term relief most commonly SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) are used. SSRI takes around 3-4 weeks to show its effect and behaviour therapy also takes weeks to show its effect. All these treatment need to be taken under supervision of psychiatrist.
Final message to you: Psychiatrist consultation ASAP.
Wish you good health.
Regards,

I am really feeling very relaxed after hearing the solution to my existing problem. Sir one more symptom i forgot to write in the previous mail i.e when i feel very anxious, some sort of uneasiness develops in the upper abdomen and and a lot of gas is produced in my stomach which causes a lot of uneasiness and i dont feel hungry till that anxious moment is over.
Also sir i work in jamshedpur i dont know whether i would be able to find any good Psychiatrist here in jamshedpur. i think in need to go to Kanpur my home town.
I am very grateful that you showed me the way to solve my nemesis.
The above symptoms are somatic symptoms of anxiety and will also improve after treatment of anxiety.
For treatment you can visit Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi (OPD) or Medical college hospital in kanpur.
Wish you good health,
Regards,
