Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX ,
Thank you for writing in to us at health care magic. This is Dr.Riyanka Chail glad to be answering your query.
Pain under the left shoulder blade is one of the most common problems experienced by aging individuals as their bones get weaker with age.It can also occur due to wrong sleeping position on the bed.
Since we want to rule out the important causes it is essential that you consult your physician . If i was your physician i would ask for:
1. An X ray of the left shoulder joint to rule out any bone issues.
2. An ECG to rule out cardiovascular events (you are already on asprin ).
3. A chest X ray since the pain is accompanied by wheeze.
If the pain is due to wrong sleeping position or bony issues then your doctor might ask you to:
1. Apply a topical analgesic and antiinflammatory cream like (diclofenac gel - available over the counter) over the area.
2. Hot compresses may help.
I would like to know do you get this type of pain repeatedly with uneventful periods of no symptoms in between? Also are you on any other medications?
Hope this answered your query.
Please do get back for more queries or further doubts.

Dr.Riyanka Chail, MBBS, MD
