Question : My stools are pellet like and hard with lots of bloat and gas. I think I am recovering from some gastritis or colitis as there is still mucous by them. What kind of diet should I eat? I don't want to take antibiotics for this as I got c diff from them last time. I try to eat gluten free with a probiotic.

Brief Answer:
It sounds like IBD

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your message.
I think I can help you.
The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a possible Inflammatory Bowel Disease or IBD.
This is a long standing colon condition, where such symptoms are common.
Ideally, it would be prudent to meet a gastroenterology specialist and ask for a colonoscopy. This may be able to help you find the diagnosis.
Steroidal enemas usually help. It would be good idea to have plenty of fluids and high fiber diet also.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.

Ok.... I agree it may be IBS... But I did have a colonoscopy recently, which came out clear. The mucous in the part that makes me worry. Could it simply be gadtric is? No blood in stool is visible. I will meet with a gastro health worker in a few weeks....the bloat and gas are annoying. I will increase fiber and fluids. Do I need yo cut back on diary too? Thanks
