Suggest Remedies For Anxiety While On Luvox

Question : been on Luvox for 10 days now, started at 25mg for 2 days, then 50 mg for 4 days, then 75mg for 4 days, when i went on the 75mg i started to have anxiety, is this common? Hoping it is just a side affect & will go away or do I need to lower the dose?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM

Luvox is Fluvoxamine and is a SSRI drug. If the drug is started with high doses rebound increase in anxiety is seen especially in first few weeks of starting therapy. 75 mg is not a very high dose and you started increasing dose gradually so the anxiety will go in few days. In my opinion no need to reduce the doses. Wait for a couple of days and you will feel better.

If you have prescription of some benzodiazepine like Xanax or Clonazepam then you can take it in low dose for few days with Luvox. This will calm you.
