Brief Answer:
can't be sure...

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

although the hallmark of influenza diagnosis is aching and high fever, it's not specific enough. Other causes may present this way, so a visit to the doctor is required particularly if your husband shows signs of severe infection like low blood pressure (less than 90mmHg), high pulse rate (more than 100 per minute), confusion, low urine output, shortness of breath, etc.

For mild infections it's usually safe to wait it out but an infection cannot be accurately classified as mild or severe without clinical data. Even if it's the flu, it can be serious sometimes. Clinical assessment is important to determine the severity.

I hope it helps!
Kind Regards!
