I am 27 years old and was circumcised 16 days ago. My stitches are almost all out, but I have worries about size of my erected penis. Prior to circumcision its size was (14 +-1) cm and now it is (10 +- 1) cm. Also it is still thicker than before and full erections are painfull. I am very worried about the size change. What could be possible causes of this? Is it temporary or permament? Will my size return back after healing is completed, and how long may the healing process last?
Thank you for your answer.
It is absolutely normal.Nothing to be worried about,
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have undergone circumcision 2 weeks back and have doubt about the size of the penis being reduced after the surgery.
Penis consists of erectile tissue and it's size varies from time to time and never gets reduced permanently. As such size or length of the penis in flaccid state has no significance at all.It is the hardness of the penis on erection that is important from the point of view of sexual satisfaction for both the partners.
As regards thickness ,it is due to inflammatory edema after surgery that is common due to tissue reaction after any surgery and will subside within 3-4 weeks .
As regards painful erection it is due to local edema and inflammation at the site of surgery .It will also get cured within a month.
You need to take broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefexime along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily.along with topical antibiotic ointment like Neosporin twice daily.
Ensure to wash your genitals with warm water twice daily.
Ensure to avoid sexual encounters till it heals up completely.
Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
