Brief Answer:
Yes,could be due to coilc or sleep discrepancy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to health care magic,

I have read your query and I can understand your concern.

In new born during initial few weeks there is no established day and night pattern. Most of the babies sleep throughout the day and they are awake, crying and troublesome during the night.

The babies are less likely to fed during night time and they often cry due to hunger.

It seems that during day time in the womb when mother is active, baby enjoy rocking movement inside and get active and playful when mother goes to bed.
This pattern continue for few weeks when the baby comes out of womb.

Most of the sleep issues noticed at this age is due to discrepancy between the parents expectation and baby's developmentally appropriate sleep behavior.

If baby is crying excessively and you have checked for wet diaper and he is not hungry,it may be due to colic as your pediatric doctor as suggested.

Giving colic drops, proper burp and keeping baby in upright position for few minutes after feed helps in colic.

Here,I wont get worried if baby is accepting feeds well, passing urine/stool,active,playful and gaining weight properly.

I hope this helps in alleviating your anxiety.

I shall be glad to answer if you have any more queries.

Regards

Brief Answer:
it's normal for newborns to pass frequent watery stools.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the follow-up.

If you are talking about loose stools in your child then i would say yes,it's normal for newborns to pass frequent watery stools.

As newborn intestines do not absorb food very well, and much of it is excreted into the stool.

After the first few months, absorption starts improving, resulting in thicker, less frequent stools.

But as long as your infant is alert, wakens to feed, getting weight and is wetting diapers frequently, then she is probably getting enough fluid from her feeding.

There is no need to be worried here.

Hope you will understand now.

Brief Answer:
This irregular sleeping pattern is quite normal.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear XXXXXXX XXXXXXX
Thanks for the follow-up.

This kind of irregular sleeping pattern is completely normal in newborn at 1 month age.

He may sleep for one whole night and it is quite possible that he may not sleep another night.

Generally, baby use to sleep 16 to 20 hours in a whole day for initial few months.

As baby will grown up,he may start having regular sleeping pattern, you can make him awaken during the day time but not forcefully. So,that baby might sleep during the whole night time.(but do not forget to feed him every 1 or 2 hourly even when he is in deep sleep).

I have a baby girl of 5 months age at present and she was having same issue earlier which obviously troublesome for me and my wife too but we have make her habit to be awaken in the day time,so baby will automatically have good sleep in night.

Also, try to awake baby between 7 pm to 11 pm if possible which will give him full sleep in night.

I would not be personally worried if baby is feeding well and having no fever.

Hope this will help.Do ask if you have more doubts.
