Suggest Remedy For Pain In Chest And Underarms

default
Posted on Tue, 14 Jul 2015
Question: For about two weeks now I have had moderate pain on my right side under my arm and breast. It has started to get itchy the last few days and whenever I take a deep breath it gets a bit more intense. I did have shingles about 40 years ago and have checked for a rash the past few days none.. I also had a similar problem last year
that went on for around 18months. I was being treated for post herpetic neuralgia etc. had several injections
that finally seemed to correct the problem. I also had a shingles vaccine about 1 year ago.

Hi!

Welcome to health care magic!

I am Dr. Saddiq Ul Abidin. I have read your problem in detail and will try to help you in best way possible.

It is so sad to know the kind of problem you have faced lately, due to shingles. But based on history and findings it is still possible to be affected by another attack of post hepatic neuralgia.

It is quite possible to be having post hepatic neuralgia without a rash as presenting feature. The involvement of a single dermatome is significant for its typical presentation. The injections you have mentioned, it seems as if you are mentioning about nerve blocks.

You can also try using skin patches or amitryptilline for temporary relief. Meanwhile for reassurance get yourself examined by a dermatologist as soon as possible.

Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. kindly rate me before closing, and leave your feedback if possible.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ul abidin.

Just an FYI. During my last episode which lasted about 18 months we tried the patches. Not affective and felt like I was tearing my skin upon removal. My primary care doctor always felt like it could have been a pinched nerve in my back.. hence the injections..

Brief Answer:
failure of patches

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Then the only resort which would be more effective will be nerve blocks for which a neurologist will be right person to be consulted once diagnosis is concerned by a drmatologist.
