Brief Answer:
Gluten free only if confirmed celiac, rule out infectious diarrhea

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

I would advise against the use of these medication without knowing the exact cause for the current episode of diarrhea. Gluten free diet should be initiated only after there has been some evidence of celiac disease to do so. Anti bodies to gluten like Trans glutaminase antibodies and biopsy showing evidence of celiac ( loss of villi) is sufficient evidence to initiate a gluten free diet.

Infectious diarrhea, indicated by blood , wbcs in stool along with high grade fever, would require antibiotics. Get a stool R/E done to be sure. In the meanwhile, you should take adequate fluids / balanced electrolyte solutions ( ORS) to avoid dehydration.

Let me know if you have any query

Please consult your doctor before deciding on any further course of action.
