What Causes Difficulty In Lifting Arm Above Shoulder?
Hi, I am a 60 year old women with High blood pressure, Celiac disease, Gallbladder disease, and I have a heart murmur. Last year, I had to go to the hospital because I have kidney dieases since then I cannot lift my left arm over my head. I am now worried and want to know why I cannot do this.
Your symptoms seem to be related to rotator cuff tear. This is the most common cause of difficulty in raising the arm over the head. I recommend to do a physical examination and an X-ray for further evaluation. Meanwhile, I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen in case of pain.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
