Brief Answer:
Food Poisoning.

Detailed Answer:
HI XXXX

Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P
Thanks for posting your query

It seems like a Intestinal infection due to some food or water you people had during your journey. In that case the medicine you have started Norflox TZ should take care . It may take one or two days more but the fever will come down.

The only thing I am bit concerned is the degree of fever. High grade fever is not common in Intestinal Infection. The other possibility is Typhoid fever. It can cause both high grade fever and loose motion.

My advise to you is to get your mother tested with IgM Typhi dot and Complete Hemogram . Kindly revert back with reports.

Till then you can continue with same medications, ask her to drink hot water, less oily and no non veg food.

Hope this information is useful to you.
Any clarification feel free to ask.

Brief Answer:
Can wait.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Thanks for the follow up .

You can wait for 1-2 days and till then you can keep giving Paracetamol . But fever after 2 days warrants testing.

Any clarification feel free to ask.

Brief Answer:
Test if fever is high.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Give paracetamol for 2 days. In these 2 days a temperature of less than 100F, no need to get the test done.

But if temperature exceeds 100F inspite of taking paracetamol get the test done (no need to wait to complete 2 days).

If there is no temperature while taking paracetamol but fever comes back after 2 days even then get tested.

Hope this clears your doubt.

Regards.
