Brief Answer:
oral contraceptive pills estrogen+ progestin.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX welcome to healthcaremagic.
I dr simit have gone through your question.
Oral contraceptive pills basically contains estrogen + progesterone which should be taken for 21 days then 7 days break and start again after 7 days. 28 days pill also there in which 7 days are Placebo drugs.
In these drugs newer generation also available which contains newer progestins and have less side effects than previous pills.
Other pills which contains only progestin which also taken for 21 days but is generally prescribed for lactating women or who are allergic to estrogen.
So discuss with your gynecologist And take his/her advises for further management.
Hope i answered your question.
Would be happy to help you further.
Take care.
