Question: Please provide information regarding your cardiac care capabilities. What tests do you recommend when the patient has a long history of a heart murmur (without problems), has been diagnosed with pneumonia (being treated with Levofloxacin for five days with five to go), but is still experiencing shortness of breath.

Brief Answer:
Further tests are needed...

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,

Shortness of breath might be related to:
- pneumonia
- aggravation of heart problems due to pneumonia

So, I highly advise to run further tests to get evaluated your heart and lungs at the same time:
- ECG
- stress test
- cardiac echo
- chest X-ray
- respiratory function tests

I also suggest to start a bronchodilatator drug to open up your respiratory airways. Starting a short-term steroid therapy should also be considered. Keeping your room well-ventilated and humidified can also help.

After discussing with your doctor, would also decide if you can do aerosol-therapy to ease your breathing.

After the results are in, specific treatment will be prescribed.

Hope it was of help! Wish fast recovery!
