Question: Good afternoon, my name is XXXXX, I am 27 years old. I have had an strong character and been more serious and straight rigid than the average people of my age that surrounded me since I can recall. I have been always doing well in school, but I noticed that I am more obsessive about order, doing things right. I also get angry when something that was planned falls apart or something did not happens the way it was supposed to be and break my plans. The feelings that arise after something like that happens are anger, frustration, powerlessness. I think I have an Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder. I need to control it. What can I do? If you can give me your professional opinion I will be more than grateful.
Kind regards

Brief Answer:
Yes it seems ocpd

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns. First of all from the available clinical description I am convinced that it is most probably OCPD although formal diagnosis is laborious process and can only be established after obtaining complete history from the patient as well as family members/partner.

Regarding management I will suggest following things.
Firstly identify the self help groups for OCPD in your area. By joining such group you will know that you are not alone and there are other methods of handling things at hand.

Secondly for every thought chart out the alternative ideas that are possible. Try your way with help of alternative flexible ideas and practice them as much as possible.

Thirdly join some yoga or meditation program in your area for control of anger and frustration. These ancient methods of treatment are very effective in controlling anger which poorly responds to even modern medications.

And finally see a cognitive behavior therapist for proper counselling as this is the most effective treatment of OCPD.

I hope this helps you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regards
